How Preston Art Glass Studio works with clients
Preston Art Glass Studio has extensive experience designing and creating custom windows. The process begins with a design idea that is rendered into a full-scale master drawing. This guides the pattern creation used as templates for cutting each piece of glass. After cutting, the leading or glazing process starts, where lead channels called "came" are cut and placed between glass pieces. The windows are then soldered, ensuring all joints are secured. Cementing follows, providing structural integrity and weather-proofing. Finally, the window is cleaned and ready for installation in various settings.
