Inventory and cellar management

• Staff can inventory and organize your wine into a software program.
• Inventory and organization services are billed at $95 per hour.
• Full cellar management services are available and can be tailored to your specific needs; please inquire directly for details.

How to arrange services

To arrange shipment receiving, wine transport, cellar moves, outbound shipments or inventory services, contact the office by phone or email during office hours. Many of these services are provided by appointment.

These locker and room sizes are approximations. Some walk-in rooms have unique features and/or extra space. All walk-in rooms are equipped with lights and electrical plugs.

Racking and storage systems within rooms

Portland Wine Storage can provide solutions for racking and case storage within walk-in rooms. Clients are also welcome to bring their own racking and storage systems as long as they do not damage the rooms or compromise security.

Office hours

Office staff are typically on site during the following hours:

• Monday – Friday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
• Saturday: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Office services such as in-person assistance and tours are generally available only during these times or by appointment.

Storage access hours

• Storage access: 24-hour access via keycard for clients.

Clients can access their lockers and rooms at any time using their keycard, even outside of regular office hours.

The facility is located in a downtown Portland building with a cave-like subterranean atmosphere designed specifically for storing wine.

Climate control

• The storage environment is maintained at approximately 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Humidity is kept around 70%.
• The goal is to provide a stable, cellar-like environment suitable for long-term wine storage.

Storage spaces

Portland Wine Storage offers:

• Private cellar rooms for larger collections.
• Personal wine storage vaults and lockers suitable for case or bottle storage.
• Solutions for both racked bottle storage and case storage.

Ceilings in storage rooms are about eight feet high and rooms are equipped with heavy gauge wire roofs. All rooms include lights and electrical plugs.

Security and access

• Owner operated, with staff on site during regular office hours and Saturdays.

Air circulation and maintenance

• An HVAC system circulates clean air constantly through every room to help maintain consistent temperature and humidity.
• Clients may bring in their own racking and storage systems, provided they do not damage the rooms or compromise security.

Do you send wine to clients? Yes. Portland Wine Storage can send wine out to clients; details are arranged directly with the office.

Signing up and getting started

Do I need to sign up in person? No. You can contact Portland Wine Storage and they can set up your storage remotely.

How hard is it to bring all my wine in? It is designed to be easy. The facility has a loading dock with a freight elevator to help with your initial move-in. Portland Wine Storage can arrange to do all the work for you or assist you as needed.

Do you move cellars? Yes. They have an insulated and refrigerated van that can relocate your cellar from locations throughout the Northwest states.

Can I start with a small space and upgrade as I need it? Yes, as long as a larger space is available at the time you want to upgrade.

At-home storage and racks

What about storing some bottles at home? Portland Wine Storage suggests this can be a good idea for everyday drinking wines. They offer wine racks you can use at home; contact the office for details.

Tours and help on site

Can I tour the facility before I sign up? Yes. You can tour the facility; contact Portland Wine Storage in advance so they know to expect you.

Is it really self-service or can I get help if I need it? The storage is largely self-service, but staff are happy to help. Staff are on site during regular business hours and Saturdays, and many services can be provided by appointment.

Inventory help and cellar management

Can I get inventory help managing my cellar? Yes. Portland Wine Storage offers inventory and organization services, as well as full cellar management tailored to your needs. These services are billed at an hourly rate; see the services information for current pricing.

Referral program

Do you have a referral program? Yes. If you refer a friend, Portland Wine Storage will give you one month of free storage as a thank you, based on the terms they confirm with you at the time you refer.
