## Specific Surgical Guidelines

The Grays Ferry Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic outlines specific guidelines for pet surgeries:

- Cats must be a minimum of 3 pounds, typically at least 12-16 weeks old, for surgery.
- PAWS does not perform surgery on exotic and brachycephalic cat breeds due to increased anesthetic risks. This includes English and Scottish Folds, Persians, Burmese, Himalayans, Rag Dolls, and British Shorthairs.

- Dogs must weigh over 4 pounds and be at least 4 months old for surgery.
- Surgeries are not performed on brachycephalic dog breeds like English Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, and Pugs due to heightened risks.

All scheduled surgeries include rabies and distemper vaccinations if needed, and typical surgical care:

- Required e-collar for all dogs and female cats
- Complimentary nail trim

The clinic makes every effort to prioritize local Philadelphia pet owners for these procedures to support community welfare.
